The Swiss Pickleball Association is launching with Swiss Pickleball – The League A new, official league initiative for clubs, teams, and players throughout Switzerland.
The goal is simple: More matches, more team spirit, and greater visibility for pickleball in Switzerland.
The new league is free, is organized centrally by the Swiss Pickleball Association, and is run entirely through Tournated handled. Clubs and teams don't have to worry about complicated schedules. The SPA plans the matchups, the teams play their games, the captains enter the results, and the standings are updated in real time on Tournated.
A League for Clubs, Teams, and the Community
Swiss Pickleball – The League is open to all member clubs of the Swiss Pickleball Association as well as their registered club members. Clubs may field multiple teams. This allows larger clubs to cover different skill levels and provide as many players as possible with regular match experience.
Individual SPA members who are not part of a club should also be able to participate. They will compete for the SPA and thus also become part of the new team structure.
Participation is free.
Four divisions
The competition is divided into four divisions:
- Open Age, 3.5+
- Open Age, 2.5+
- Senior, 50+
- Senior, 60+
The League thus offers various entry points for different skill levels and age groups. The focus is on fair, exciting matches and on encouraging the widest possible participation.
Each team consists of two women and two men.
Match Format
In the division Open Age, 3.5+ A team match consists of six matches:
- Women's Doubles
- Men's Doubles
- Mixed Doubles 1
- Mixed Doubles 2
- Women's Singles
- Men's Singles
In the divisions Open Age, 2.5+, Seniors 50+ and Seniors 60+ A team match consists of four matches:
- Women's Doubles
- Men's Doubles
- Mixed Doubles 1
- Mixed Doubles 2
All matches will be Best-of-3 games to 11 points played. The rule is Sideout Scoring, a game must be won by a two-point margin. In 14:14 A Golden Point is played, so the game ends at the latest when 15:14. Each team has one timeout per game.
Every point counts
The League uses a point system in which every game won counts.
The following applies to each individual match:
- 1 point per game won
- 1 additional point for winning the match
Example: If Team A wins a match 2–1 against Team B, Team A receives two points for the games won and an additional point for winning the match. So, in total 3 points. Team B receives 1 point for the game won.
That way, every game remains important, even if a match is lost. That's exactly what keeps the excitement going until the very last rally.
Here's How to Participate
Before the registration deadline:
- Team captains create a team
- To do this, all four players need an account on our tournament platform, Tournated (the «Tournated» mobile app or on the web: https://play.pickleballverband.ch)
- All player accounts must be linked to your DUPR account: Tournated Profile > My Sports & Third-Party Connections > log in with your DUPR credentials
- Join a club: Go to Tournated Profile > My Clubs & Coaches > select your club > your club administrator must confirm your membership
- Create a team: Tournated Profile > My Teams > +Create Team: The team must be assigned to a club (select country: Switzerland, specify sport: Pickleball, then search for a club). Add players using their Tournated email address or from your buddy list
- Then go back to the tournament and register your team for the tournament for free
After the registration deadline, the SPA will determine the matchups—that is, who plays against whom. You decide when to play. The match must take place during the game period (see below).

- Play a match
- Captains enter the results in the app
- Standings and rankings are updated in real time
- Create social media posts and include the Swiss Pickleball Association as a collaboration partner or at least tag it: @swisspickleballofficial
- Enjoy a BBQ
Every team needs a captain or coordinator. This person is responsible for organizing the team, communicating with others, and recording results.
What does a team need?
It doesn't take much to make a connection. What's important is:
- At least two courts
- Balls
- Players with a DUPR rating
- Tournated Accounts
- A team captain or a coordinator
- Fair Play
- And ideally, a barbecue or get-together after the matches
After all, The League isn't just meant to be a sports league—it's also meant to strengthen the community. Playing, competing, laughing, and spending time together. That's exactly how pickleball grows.

Prize: 100 JOOLA HC-40 balls
The winning team in the league wins 100 JOOLA HC-40 Balls. This will allow the club to reinvest directly in training sessions, club nights, and new matches.
