The year 2024 was a milestone for the Swiss Pickleball Association (SPA) - a year full of events, developments and sporting highlights. Pickleball has experienced a remarkable upswing in Switzerland and it is clear to see that the level of the game is steadily rising. We can look back on a successful year and are looking forward to what 2025 will bring.
A year of innovations and successes
2024 was a year in which a lot happened. One of the biggest highlights was the first Swiss Pickleball Tour, which consisted of four exciting tournaments in different regions of Switzerland:

Tennis and squash Zofingen
Agno
This tournament series has not only increased the popularity of the sport, but also raised the level of the game in Switzerland to a new level. Participants, from beginners to experienced players, were able to show off their skills and learn from each other. It was exciting to see the sport grow at a local level and more and more people discovering the excitement of pickleball.
Another outstanding event was the first Swiss Championship, which was held at the Tennis and Squash Grüze Winterthur in October 2024. It was a historic moment as the best players from Switzerland competed for the title. The event was a great success, both for the players and the spectators, and showed the enormous potential of the sport in Switzerland.
A significant step onto the international stage
November 2024 brought particularly exciting news: the first participation of a Swiss delegation in an EPC (European Pickleball Championship) tournament. And even more importantly, it was the first EPC tournament ever! Our delegation, consisting of the winners of the Swiss championship, competed on this international stage and showed the world the potential of Swiss pickleball. It was a fantastic moment for the sport in Switzerland, which filled us with pride and motivated us to continue to grow at international level.
Pickleball all year round
In addition to the major tournaments and championships, we were able to present pickleball at various established sporting events throughout the year in 2024. We are particularly proud that we were able to give thousands of children the opportunity to get to know and actively experience the sport at events such as the UBS Kids Cup, Fit for Future and the UBS Extrameile. These events have enabled us to introduce pickleball to a wide audience and further increase interest in our sport.
This valuable work would not have been possible without the generous support of the organizers and the energetic help of our volunteers. We are very grateful and proud that we were able to take this successful path together with you, the organizers and helpers.

Outlook for an exciting 2025
Looking ahead to the coming year, we are full of anticipation and expectation. 2025 will undoubtedly be another exciting year for the Swiss Pickleball Association. We have already planned the first tournaments and are looking forward to continuing the Swiss Pickleball Tour. New training opportunities and events are also on the agenda. The level will continue to rise and we will do everything we can to spread the sport even further and strengthen the Swiss pickleball community.
A major goal remains to get more people interested in the sport and to establish pickleball as an integral part of the Swiss sports scene. We are convinced that 2025 will write many more success stories for Swiss pickleball.
